Sick days

So the oldest came down with that tummy bug. Fortunately daddy handled him during the pukey day. I stayed home with him yesterday and today. He's feeling much better and I have to say I've loved the time together. Seems like we haven't had any since the little girl was born.

Might have to try making this a regular thing. Take a day off each month for mommy son day.

That's a great idea ! Sorry little man is feeling down though.

I try and make every Saturday a mommy/Chase day because my husband has his man crap and give MYSELF one day off during the week each month, helps with the whole sanity thing :killingme

I cannot imagine how you do it with TWO

I'm Mr. Grandma four days a week, now with two - the almost three year old grandson and now almost six month old granddaughter. The boy was easy and a hoot when it was just me and him. Now it's still a hoot, but a lot more trying in trying to balance out the attention thing.

The pay is terrible, even though my salary doubled upon the arrival of the girl - from nothing to double nothing. But the rest of it is priceless, and my wife/grandma, although she sees them at lunch each day, is still jealous that's it's me and not her.:smoochy:

Retirement does have some bennies.......

I tried doing father/son day, but its kinda hard to do when he is 20 years old.

Wait til he's 21! You can easily coerce him out of the house if beer is involved! :buddies:

I kind of did my own thing and hardly hung out with my mother when I was between 19 and 24. I always thought my boyfriends and friends were more important. Moving away from home made me realize my time with my parents is special, and although not exactly limited, I do try and take advantage whenever I can. I've driven the 6 hr trek home on a Friday night just to spend an entire Saturday shopping and cooking with my mom and turn around and drive back home Sunday night in time to work Monday. She's definitely like my best friend now.

My younger brothers are 23 and 21. The 23 yr old is starting to come around again and hangs out with my father when he's home (atleast until a party starts at 10 pm). The 21 yr old is still very self-absorbed and being the youngest, it might take until he's over 30 until he comes around.

Our mommy/son time was always Friday night while daddy worked. We usually made or ordered pizza for dinner and watched Disney movies on the couch or camped out on the floor until bedtime or later. He's almost 21 and still remembers it fondly!
