We found out last week that one of our Greys has cancer. It involves a nerve sheath. He goes in for another surgery Wednesday to remove more of the cancer and we will see were it goes from there. :frown:

How sad. Why did you decide to go forward with the surgery? Are they doing any type of chemo or radiation as well?

Thank you for the prayers.

I took him to the vet for an unrelated problem and he had a very small growth on his back.(It had been the same size for about a year) The Vet looked at it and said , Yep he's getting old. The week after the visit the growth grew rapidly and burst open. They did surgery to remove it but she said a lot was still inside. An oncologist did some tests and they determind it was cancer. This new surgery will go in to see how far it has spred & what course of action to take. I've done some reaserch on this type of cancer, It doesn't have a good prognosis.

What kind of cancer? My GSD had hemangiosarcoma, 100% untreatable. We could have had surgery to prolong his life for "maybe, if we're lucky" 6 weeks.

Best wishes to you both, I know how you feel.:flowers:
