Tom Cotton: ‘Dr. Fauci Is Playing Word Games’ About U.S. Taxpayer Money Being Sent To Wuhan Lab

“The letter that I joined Senator Ron Johnson and a handful of other senators very specifically asks the National Institutes of Health why they were funding gain of function research in these Wuhan labs,” Cotton said. “Now, Dr. Fauci has been to Congress, and he said this absolutely did not happen. But Dr. Fauci is playing word games.”

“So, the money that the NIH gave went to an American organization, which turned around and gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to these Wuhan labs to investigate coronaviruses and, yes, to find ways to make them more contagious and more dangerous,” Cotton continued. “And we asked Francis Collins, who’s Dr. Fauci’s boss, to come clean, to tell us exactly what was happening, why this research was being funded, as you point out, Maria, during a time in which the Obama administration had explicitly banned this kind of gain of function research, research into making some of the world’s deadliest pathogens even more dangerous.”

Lock that old basturd up and throw away the key.
He killed thousands and crippled an economy.

Fauci Praises China’s Scientists, Claims Biden Admin Didn’t Consult With Him On Ending Wuhan Lab Probe

CNN reported on Tuesday that the investigation, which was run out of the State Department, was shut down because the Biden administration claimed that it was concerned about the quality of work and evidence that was produced.

Fauci and Collins had the following interaction with Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA):
KENNEDY: Why did you guys spike … the prior administration’s investigation into the origins of the coronavirus and whether it could have come out of the Wuhan lab?
FAUCI: Sir, I, I, we did not spike anything in the prior administration. I’m not sure what you mean by ‘spike,’ but we have no influence–
KENNEDY: The State Department spiked the prior administration’s study.
FAUCI: But that has nothing to do with the National Institutes of Health.
KENNEDY: So they didn’t consult with y’all?
FAUCI: They did not.
KENNEDY: Did they consult with you, Dr. Collins?
COLLINS: I read about it in the press this morning.
KENNEDY: Doc, they just spiked it without talking to their experts? [Pause] You don’t want to answer that one, do you?

How Anthony Fauci Made Himself The Face Of America’s Institutional Decay

An Unelected Political Animal with Massive Power

In October, a trio of elite academics from Harvard, Oxford, and Stanford universities unveiled The Great Barrington Declaration to promote an alternative pandemic strategy to the experimental lockdowns Fauci pushed ceaselessly. The document proposed a strategy of “focused protection,” or of lifting social restrictions on the general population while implementing targeted measures to protect the most vulnerable.

The three signers wrote they were compelled to propose the declaration after observing the severe consequences of lockdown measures. The lockdowns, they observed, presented costs that far outweighed the benefits, including lower childhood vaccination rates, worsening cardiovascular disease outcomes, fewer cancer screenings, and deteriorating mental health. The absence of kids in schools, they noted, was “a grave injustice,” yet endorsed by Fauci.

Within two days the document drew more than 3,500 signatures including an impressive array of scientists whose voices had been ignored or dismissed. By May 2021, the declaration featured signatures from more than 50,000 doctors, epidemiologists, and scientists, along with nearly 800,000 lay people.

Yet Fauci shot the Great Barrington Declaration down, running to the friendly press to dispel criticism of his pandemic prescriptions, any concession from which offered Fauci nothing to gain and everything to lose.

“Quite frankly, that is nonsense,” Fauci said of the document’s proposal, calling his peers in the scientific community stupid for their disagreement. “Anybody who knows anything about epidemiology will tell you that that is nonsense and very dangerous.”

Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, an epidemiologist and infectious disease expert at Stanford, was one of the document’s principal authors Fauci declared ignorant.

“Fauci propagandized against a reasonable alternative strategy,” Bhattacharya told The Federalist, “which absolutely shocked me.”

Fauci’s ‘Expect The Unexpected’ Book Is Exactly What You’d Expect From A Self-Serving Bureaucrat

Disney-owned National Geographic is not only publishing his book, but also producing a documentary titled simply “Fauci,” starring him as its subject. You can get a taste of what’s sure to be fawning framing here:

Americans who have submitted to the CDC’s COVID orthodoxy have looked to Fauci as a benevolent god. Left-wing politicians enjoyed the power they accrued during the pandemic, thanks to Fauci-endorsed lockdowns, and regular citizens garnered social credit for masking and double masking and waving around their vaccine cards like Forrest Gump at Lt. Dan. So when Fauci calls the shots, they willingly follow.

The Fauci hero-worship mirrors the hagiography of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. As with “Notorious RBG” enamel pins, Halloween costumes, and documentaries, the left has memorialized Fauci with various tchotchkes. They bought Fauci Christmas ornaments, Fauci prayer candles, and expletive-laden Fauci mugs. Gretchen Whitmer even strategically positions her Fauci throw pillow to score cool-aunt points during media appearances.

Nice Hyperbolye .... but you cannot expect the unexpected .... it would otherwise then be expected.

It Turns Out Dr. Fauci Also Knew Masks Weren't Effective Against COVID

Responding to a question on February 5, 2020, about whether someone should wear a mask while traveling by plane, Fauci pointed out the inefficacy of surgical masks and ultimately recommended against wearing personal protective equipment while traveling by air. "Masks are really for infected people to prevent them from spreading infection to people who are not infected rather than protecting uninfected people from acquiring infection," he said. "The typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out virus, which is small enough to pass through the material." Fauci concluded, saying "I do not recommend that you wear a mask" to travel by air.

A February 10, 2020 Q&A with the Washington Post was forwarded to Fauci, in which he responded to a question of "what should the average person be doing" about COVID, saying "at this point" COVID "is low risk" before saying Americans should "absolutely not" be wearing a mask.

In an email thread dated to mid-February 2020, Fauci and an aide discuss responses to a reporter's questions about COVID-19. When responding on whether "masks work?" Dr. Fauci's approved response was "The vast majority of people outside of China do not need to wear a mask" because "a mask is more appropriate for someone who is infected than for people trying to protect against infection."

Emails Show Fauci Knew Masks Weren’t Very Effective Before Pushing Universal Masking

“Masks are really for infected people to prevent them from spreading infection to people who are not infected rather than protecting uninfected people from acquiring infection,” he replied to Sylvia Burwell, possibly the same woman who served as former President Barack Obama’s Health and Human Services secretary, on Feb. 5, 2020. “The typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out virus, which is small enough to pass through material. It might, however, provide some slight benefit in keep out gross droplets if someone coughs or sneezes on you.”

Fauci’s final recommendation for Burwell was not to wear a mask “particularly since you are going to a very low-risk location.”

The White House Coronavirus Task Force member continued to warn the public against wearing a mask and even said “there’s no reason to be walking around with a mask,” on March 8, 2020, but by the end of the month, he changed his tune. Despite acknowledging that the masks available to most Americans only offered a “slight benefit” to users, it wasn’t long before Fauci began to push for widespread masking.

[clip]

Unlike the way he portrayed the non-efficacy of masking in the email to Burwell, Fauci later pushed for widespread masking under the guise of accidental asymptomatic transmission — a phenomenon that studies and even the World Health Organization’s technical lead have said is “very rare.”

People need to be careful for the BS they fall for. Whoever started this (accidently) got their first few facts wrong. GSK does not own Pfizer, and GSK does not own the Wuhan lab, it is state owned (communism anyone?).

Pfizer is twice the size of GSK.

It pains me to see people on the right to fall for such poor made up BS, I expect this from the left.

ABC Reporter Promised Fauci She Wouldn’t ‘Jeopardize’ Him, Emails Show

However, some journalists may have crossed the line into advocacy by offering assurances to Fauci.

Kyra Phillips of ABC News, for example, all but promised Fauci exclusively positive coverage. After assuring him that she had “respected” him “professionally and medically” for the better part of two decades, Phillips emphasized that she understood Fauci was in “a unique situation.”

“I want you to know that I respect that and would never put you in a situation with my correspondence that would jeopardize you in anyway [sic],” Phillips went on.

So, not only did Phillips flatter Fauci and acknowledge the difficult circumstances he found himself in, she insisted that she would not endanger him in any way — politically or otherwise — regardless of what was to transpire or whatever information about Fauci she might come into.

Rand Paul Addresses Whether Dr. Anthony Fauci Could Be Facing ‘Criminal Culpability’ For Fraud, Repeated Failures

“There’s a lot of evidence that he has a great deal of conflict of interest,” Paul said. “And that if it turns out this virus came from the Wuhan lab, which it looks like it did, that there’s a great deal of culpability in that he was a big supporter of the funding. But he also was a big supporter to this day of saying we can trust the Chinese on this, we can trust the Chinese scientists. And I think that’s quite naïve, and really should preclude him from the position that he’s in.”

Host Laura Ingraham asked Paul if he thought if there was “could there be criminal culpability here, given the repeated failures of Dr. Fauci” or “criminal culpability here of fraud or ongoing collaboration with the Chinese when when he was making excuses for them?”

“At the very least, there’s moral culpability,” Paul responded. “In the research done by the bat scientist in Wuhan, she gives him credit, she lists the exact NIH grant with a 10 numeral disclaimer or ID number, listing the money and thanking the NIH for the money. It’s clearly gain of function. There are several scientists who are in this field, cellular biologists, they all say that taking a SARS virus and adding an S protein to it to make it infect human cells, that is the very definition of gain of function. It’s very dangerous. We shouldn’t be doing it here or there.”

I for one, would love to see Fauci in Prison Oran ge
