Fauci Suggests Children Under 4 Years Old Will Get 3 Doses Of COVID-19 Vaccines
“Dose and regimen for children 6 months to 24 months worked well, but it turned out the other group from 24 months to 4 years did not yet reach the level of non-inferiority, so the studies are continued,” Fauci said in response to a question from ABC News correspondent Cheyenne Haslett.
“It looks like it will be a three-dose regimen. I don’t think we can predict when we will see an EUA [Emergency Use Authorization] with that,” he added, referring to approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Fauci was hesitant to provide any kind of timetable in response to questions concerning vaccines for young children.
“I can’t give you a timetable on that. We’ll just have to wait and see,” he said.
The COVID-19 press briefing also updated the public regarding additional Pfizer antiviral pills that are expected by June.
