Am I confusing the 2? Maybe I am. If so, then SIGMA is the actual software, and ERP is the planning tool. That sound right?

I thought Sigma was the Greek letter used to denote standard deviation.

No, Sigma is the name of the project, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) is what it does, and SAP is the software it uses.

Didn't research it, just recognized it as a standard mathmatical processes used during the daily activity out here where I work. It really depends on how the term is used as it is also the company that came up with SAP used by NAVAIR.
