everywhere a sign!

A long winded casual observation...

Anyone out there that travels Indian Bridge Rd. has no doubt seen the diego green pedestrian signs that are installed in the middle of the road at Cecils Old Mill.

You may have also noticed that someone or numerous someones have decided to play "whack-a-mole" on them. This is the second set they have installed, and it looks like it's time for a third.

Do you think the state will install new ones, and how long before they are abused again. Nothing like a brand new target for some heathen to take a bat, tire iron, or bumper to :ohwell:

BTW, they have the same signs installed at St. Marys college cross-walks. Still on the original set, and in good shape.

:poke: :blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah:

Back in the day when we had drink and drive thru windows, a Gf and I used to try and hit signs by popping champagne corks. :alkies:

We never did that kind of damage. :smack:

That's my casual observation for the day other than my goat boy one

I think they should take two identical signs and put a layer of concrete between them, then mount them on the post.

And don't forget the webcam so we can all enjoy when Bubba takes a swing at them with a baseball bat.

We lined a mailbox in concrete once. It was the last time they ever tried knocking off the post.

Isn't that illegal?

If it's your own mailbox I think certain modifications, within limits, are legal. As long as the space remaining inside is still big enough to hold the mail I think it's okay.

 So was their hitting the mailbox with a baseball bat. This way we could supply the police with the bat they dropped - which had fingerprints on it. Didn't take them long to find the kid that had gone to ER with a damaged arm and match the prints. He got a vandalism charge. We didn't get charged with anything, although the police said that they didn't encourage such actions. Overall preferable to my ex's plan to sit in the front yard and shoot the car full of perpetrators.

I thought I remember reading somewhere that modifying it with concrete, etc is illegal because if a car hits it; it could be deadly -maybe I'm thinking of something else

You're probably right. I believe we did it without finding out if it was legal or not. Ex may have pleaded ignorance of the law. It was 15 years ago, I'd have to ask him or look up the old paperwork. I seem to remember more about no concrete posts at the time.
