1 roast
1 can coke
1 pkg. dry onion soup

Put roast in pan. Sprinkle with dry soup mix. Pour coke over roast. Bake at 350 degrees for 2-3 hours. Potatoes, carrots, etc. may be added. Juice makes extra good gravy!

You are so right. I've made this recipe before and it was so salty it was practically indelible. I should say that the dog really loved it.

I dont think it would be too salty w/ the 3 packets but adding beef stock on top of those WHOA!

Maybe my tastes are strange but I enjoyed it and did not think that it was too salty. Of course I like salt a lot. If I was going to eat a bowl of salt I would put salt on it. Just saying. And no, I don't have any problems with my blood pressure. Different strokes for different folks.

Agreed. The only problem I have with the recipe is the cost. I won't buy pre-packaged seasonings unless they are buy one get three free.

A Morton's canister and some household spices will take care of it.

So will a can of COS.

Slow cooked beef roast is always a winner.

Not me, man - I always have Italian dressing and ranch mix in my cupboard in case I get an emergency craving for Italian beef or ranch crackers.

Ranch crackers... 'splain...:tap:

You take oyster crackers and toss them in melted butter, then dry ranch dressing mix. Spread on a cookie sheet and bake at like 350 for 5 mins, then runkle them up and give them another 5. Do the runkling a few times until the crackers are crispy. Like, 3 or 4 runkles.

Addictive.

Do you have costco/bjs card? They have cannisters of HVR and the Italian seasoning stuff for like $6 bucks. I bought one of each a year ago and they are still half full
