But I like this one..words to live by..

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar...and the coffee...

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full.

They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things. Your family, your children, your faith, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions. Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your
life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter. Your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else. The small stuff. If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is
no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to
clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full
your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

It helps me after yesterday's hugely uninspired effort up in New York. One thing I should say tho, NY's defense rose to the occasion, they refused to let the skins complete the dink passes to the playmakers. They made Brunell go long and the d-line never gave him the time to look long.

...were our hero's too focused on the golf balls, the pebbles or the sand? They sure acted like they could have used the coffee...

.....the offensive line needed to give Brunell more time.....time he didn't have.

The only thing that matters to me is that the Eagles beat the Cowboys and I won a 12 pack of Bud.

I don't think so...

...time wasn't the issue. The Skins started an identity last year; quick short passes in the flat to take advantage of the d closing to the middle to shut down the run, taking a few shots deep if everything else is working and it worked great...when it worked.

We did not last year, nor this, have much sauces going down field absent the run and flat passes.

I was trying to fit in and bet on the Skins even though I knew better. I should have gone with my first instinct. And Otter, I guess you were too depressed to hit Tiki?

Alright. Although that is what I thought I heard Joe Gibbs mention on his postgame interview.........not enough time for the QB to execute. So?

...you may hear Gibbs talk about the line. You may hear him talk about giving up big plays on D. You may hear him talk about getting the running game going and you may hear him say he expected SOMEONE to step up and make a big play to get it going, special team, D or whatever.

Let's just not spend too much time waiting to hear him say "Our QB needs to make a big play."

Two questions:

Who in the heck at ESPN thought that Tony Kornheiser(sp?) was qualified to be an announcer/commentator on Monday Night Football? His drivel is as near to inane as I've heard yet. What a dork! He just does not make any sense!

OK, so I'm flipping between two channels, and, I have to wonder:

Who coaches, or should I say encourages, Alan Colmes about what to discuss on the Hannity & Colmes Show, when querying a guest on the program?

I mean - intelligence is not his strong suit, really. It seems someone is e-mailing him the "party line", and Alan just runs with it. He was jousting with Ollie North about No. Korea and it's staging an underground Nuke test, and in the interchange with Ollie, he implodes on himself.

I thought: WTF? Are you that uninformed?

BTW, Denver seems to be giving the Ravens the game, so far..........
