Got a signup form to choose CleanChoice (solar/wind) instead of wherever SMECO uses. CleanChoice is currently offering a 90 day introductory rate of 7.8 cents/kWh, variable monthly thereafter. SMECOs residential rate is currently 6.76 cents/kWh. Add in SMECOs great customer service and bare minimum downtime, why would I want anything else?

Every time I get one of their sales calls, they disappear quickly when I mention I'm on a co op.
I don't think a lot of these marketing campaigns have a clue on who, what or where they are making their pitch.
Raise hand if you have received stuff in the mail for Xfinity Business or just Xfinity. Same goes with Verizon and FIOS
If you call them, and they put in your zip code - which was on the mailing I'm sure, they tell you that service is not available in your area.
So just why did you send that mailing to me?
It' snot like Clean Choice or whoever is going to run lines to your house. They just take over your bill.
Law opened up choice but it also opened us up to scam artists. By scam, they just "say" you agreed to the change.
Next thing you know you are getting two bills. One from the original utility company for certain services (not based on use) and the other from Acme Electric Co.

I trashed my clean choice mail junk a few times. Hardly ever answer the house phone anymore, just way too many junk calls. Took a call from someone saying they are with FOP association and wanted me to donate 50 bucks, I said I will donate 5 buck and he was eager to practically hang up on me.

^I tell them, you have the landline phone number, you have the address, send me your materials for consideration. That gets a hangup.
