Rawhide is not good for dogs. It can become lodged in throat, stomach, and/or intestines and can cause blockages. Kong toys are great and you can put peanut butter in them for an added treat. Did you say they were Springers? Look for a Springer forum and see what they recommend for fun chewies.Suz' said:I gave them a rawhide bone last week. First they looked at it like WTF do I do with it? Well they soon found out and devoured it!! And 2 more since. They are still in the puppy chewing stage. So what else can I get for them? I don't think an abundance of rawhide bones is good for them. Dentabones??? Any ideas? I need something to keep them from my chewing on my furniture!! (one already did damage to the quilt rack my FIL made for me, in 30 seconds with those sharp teeth).
I love the names you picked for your dogs.cattitude said:Rawhide is not good for dogs. It can become lodged in throat, stomach, and/or intestines and can cause blockages. Thanks! But I can't take the credit. A g/f picked the names. They like them better then what they came with too (sherlock & watson)Vince said:I love the names you picked for your dogs.
I would never do that to my dogs.Suz' said:So we're doing the training thing with a elec. fence...........
They get zapped going and coming back home. Good luck with the coming back part.Suz' said:I hate to do it also. It's a last resort kind of thing. I'd rather do this to him then have him get mushed on mattapany rd. He's smart-he'll get the hang of it real quick.
Sorry, Suz'. In response to you Karma question, it wasn't me. It was at Staff Appreciation lunch...and why would I send you red anyway?Suz' said:The only thing I have given out in weeks is green and today I get this????

Try training your dog the proper way.
Whisper in his ear to stay in the fenced yard.

The house I bought had the electric fence, so I zapped myself (never said I was a smart person) to feel what my pups would feel. Guess what, never again will I do that to myself, or my dogs.
