That's true. Peaches and browns would work better.

Same here. I always look like I have a black eye, the makeup is uneven, it is smeared, just horrible.

But give me any other color under the sun and it looks perfect. Go figure.

I do a toned down (not quite so goopy) version of that in browns vs. blacks, but a little lighter. The black smokey thing only works on some people with the right complexion.
