Smoking protects you from covid?

A friend of mine mentioned this and then I got to thinking about it....and then I did a search:

My own little side poll shows that my personal friends who smoke, none of them have gotten covid. My non-smoking friends, almost all of them have.

Interesting....

I am an occasional smoker - as in two or three cigs a day for a couple of weeks, and then I'll go a month without smoking at all, then I'll have a cigarette, then I won't smoke for a few weeks. It took me forever to get covid - I had to travel all over the country with no mask or vax to finally get it, and even then it was a mild case. I wonder if I'd have not gotten it at all if I were smoking a pack a day or whatever?

That's funny, because I remember reading early on in the pandemic that nicotine seemed to have some effect on the Covid virus. Then almost nothing else about it. Of course there are various health organizations that have made cigarettes the greatest evil of the world. So I'm quite sure if someone found a positive connection there, it would be buried immediately.

Not sure how a virus that appears to hit the respiratory system would be slowed down by smoking. People who smoke build up a tar film in their lungs that works against clearing mucous out of them. But who knows? Nicotine is an addictive drug which is also basically a pesticide. But you never know when something like that could very well be the Kryptonite to an unknown virus like this. If it is, you will never know about it because the anti-tobacco lobby will spend any amount of money to keep it a secret.

Maybe this data will convince Mrs to let me start smoking again...
Never mind, she don’t give a chit about COVID.

When a young coworker was diagnosed with covid, I was sure it was my turn next, as we sat literally 3 feet from one another. He was out for 2 weeks and recovered without any complications. We performed a "scrub down" at work and nobody else contracted it, thankfully. That was pretty much when I decided to become a vaccine holdout.

What is interesting, back when there was only the common cold or flu, many times I would be around sick people, and at times taking care of them, or assisting in doing things, or visiting, for them while they lay in bed. And yet I never got the 'sick' myself. I'm sure many have experienced the same. I'm betting that these "viruses", and other possible bad bugs, are always within our bodies with our natural immune system keeping them at bay. And it's that when our bodies become overloaded with inflammation from a bad diet, and lack of exercise is when these illness manifest themselves as a form of the body detoxifying itself. It's those with a strong immune system and that are healthy, that really don't get sick.

I only smoke after sex. If you look closely, you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse.

Could be there are certain interests that are invested in the tobacco companies sending a subliminal message to people to, ~ go ahead, buy some smokes, as a possible preventive measure, we won't mind.

Right, because they've been so successful at getting that message out in the past.

Plus I doubt that anyone who doesn't already smoke will start just so they don't get the rona. Although the progs are so freaked out and covid obsessed you never know....

I will note without comment that dozens and dozens of studies have shown nicotine protects people from covid and — especially — spike protein injury:

— BMJ comment, Jan 2020, “Nicotine and COVID-19,” concluding “the evidence suggests that nicotine or other nicotinic agonists could have beneficial effects against severe COVID-19.”

— Jerusalem Post, June 2020, “Israeli study points to nicotine as a potential therapeutic for COVID-19.”

— Medical News, July 2020, “Involvement of nicotine receptors in COVID-19” (nicotine interferes with spike protein).

— Cureus Journal, October 2020, “Does Nicotine Prevent Cytokine Storms in COVID-19?” (Nicotine may act as an anti-inflammatory that prevents cytokine storms caused by spike protein).

— American Council on Health and Science, June 2020, “Does Smoking Prevent COVID-19? We Don’t Know, But Some Journalists Don’t Want To Find Out.”

— Journal of Biophysics, February 2021, “A potential interaction between the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and nicotinic acetylcholine receptors” (nicotine interferes with spike protein).

— GLP, October 2021, “Smokers are less likely to get COVID: French researchers explore whether nicotine might prevent transmission.”

— Medical Hypotheses, January 2022, “Nicotinic receptors as SARS-CoV-2 spike co-receptors?” (nicotine interferes with spike protein).

… and there are MANY, MANY more. I could do this all day. Just saying.

I think I've finally made a breakthrough in my illness, as I sit here vaping... Today is the first day that I don't feel the least bit nauseous after a cup and a half of coffee. :yahoo:

Probably explains why Joe Biden is trying to ban e-cigs. "NO alternate therapeutics! I got paid good money by Big Pharma to force you to get their dangerous shots and damn it, you better get them!"
