FWIW, some folks wanted too much as a starting price for their hay, and theirs SAT, unbought. No haycheck this week for the greedy

If the bale had a good weight I would spend 3.00 for Orchard grass now. Thanky you Happy for the post

I cant go that high for grass. I purchase out of the field for 2-2.50 a bale. This year has been more though. I have had to pay more than my average $...Remember the drought of '02? I bought 2 tractor trailers from PA. I paid 150/ton = 3.95 per bale for all timothy. That hay was so worth it at 50+ lbs. ea.
Its a balance of being frugle on the cost and being picky on the quality.
