SMYFFL Fall Season Champions to participate in 1st Annual NFL Flag "Metro Bowl" versus Virginia State Champs !
The Southern Maryland Youth "NFL" Flag Football League Fall League Champions in the Rookie (7-8), Semi-Pro (9-11), and Pro Divisions (12-14) have been selected to participate in the 1st Annual NFL Flag "METRO BOWL" in November of 2009. The METRO BOWL will feature the SMYFFL Fall League Season Champions competing against the Virginia State NFL Youth Flag Football League Champions. The best and the largest NFL youth flag program in all of Maryland will face the largest and best NFL youth flag football program in Virginia.
The explosion of the sport of NFL youth flag football has created an exciting opportunity for local "house" (not travel) league teams to advance to compete against other State NFL Flag "house" league Champions in a Regional Championship format. The 1st Annual NFL Youth Flag Football "Metro Bowl" Championships will be hosted at a Northern Virginia location in 2009 and alternating to Maryland in 2010. Metro Bowl organizers are in fact trying to secure FedEx Field or Redskins Park as a possible future location to host this new Annual event. Local Cablevision operators in Northern Virginia and Southern Maryland will also be contacted too see if any interests exist to televise the event.
The Southern Maryland Youth "NFL" Flag Football League is pleased to be participating for years to come in the NFL Flag Football Youth "METRO BOWL" and sees this as an exciting opportunity for our Fall Champions to showcase the league's core values they have learned both on and off the playing fields playing against the Virginia State Champions. Tentative dates for the METRO BOWL is scheduled for the weekend of November 14th/15th.
The Southern Maryland Youth FLAG Football League (SMYFFL) is not affiliated and should not be confused with the Southern Maryland Youth Football League (SMYFL).
