Able body people w/ no dependents should be on assistance for short periods. The folks with school age dependents for a bit longer but not into infinity.

This is something I have been saying since the beginning of all this slash-n-burn started. Why are you going after employed personnel (at least they are employed), veterans benefits, SS, etc. All things that were payed into and/or earned YET, they wouldn't dare touch the unearned money being paid out to keep people from becoming criminals.

There is already talk (just talk at this time) to reduce service staff at the VHA and VBA. Reductions in medical availability to include community care. Possible re-evaluation of the disability compensation system (changing ratings, eligibility, etc.)
As for SS, I am sure that is coming. It is a large portion of the debt so...

So just talk, thats what I thought.
Now the real question, how many Veterans do you know that are getting monthly checks that have no business getting those checks?
I know many that do, and they have no business getting those checks.
If I was President Trump I would investigate every Veteran getting a monthly check starting with the 100% Tan cards and on down from there.

First... you sound pretty salty about this. Former Marine right? Been denied benefits in the past? If so, let me know because I assist quite a few disabled veterans with it. Maybe I can assist.
Second.. what exactly do you know about the veteran's disability process? Do you know the legalities of it? Do you know what goes in to applying for, proving, and receiving a disability benefit?
Please... educate me on your opinion for "investigating every veteran getting a monthly check" based on your knowledge of the system.
Finally.. why do you hate disabled veterans so much?

I know lots thank you, Why would I hate Veterans that have service related disability's??
I grew up with a family full of Veterans, I've never applied for any benefits thank you. Go and hang around The Legion of a VFW Hall and sit at the bar and just listen to some of the Veterans tell each other on how to get over on today's benefit system.
I have a few VN Veteran friends here that don't drive, I drive them to many Appointments either in Marion, Muncie or Indy VA Thank you.

Now for your comment with me hating disabled Veterans, there is no such thing as a former Marine, F uck you again.

Ah yeah. These are most likely veterans that have been screwed over by the VA's unofficial motto, "Delay, deny, and hope you die". Delay after delay. Time after time being denied for obvious service related problems, or the VA losing paperwork. And if your term of service has expired, known as an ETS date or (Expiration Term of Service) and are not currently listed in the roles of the IRR (Individual Ready Reserve), you are indeed a former Marine. Regardless of the brainwashing you received. But if you want to go with that, then that as well applies all other previous service members. A Soldier is still a Solider. An Airman is still an Airman. A Seaman is still a Seaman. Carry on.

So are you a doctor that’s best to determine if they should get those checks? Just because they aren’t limping or missing a limb doesn’t mean they are not eligible for disability benefits. So what you really know is nothing, you base this on your opinion.

Believe it or not, when you drill down to the facts and get actual denials when seeking veteran benefits (and you know what is needed to make a good case) then about 75% of the problems are with incomplete and/or insufficient evidence.

The ones that I'm talking about do not fit that mold at all.

lol, push an airman or a seamen across the room and see what will not happen.
Push a grunt and see what response you get.

If one is on the up and up, why would it be a problem to re-certify ones percentage? It could quite possibly go up.

You do know that as part of being a disabled veteran (or the vast majority of them), one is required to periodically attend a re-examination for benefits purposes? Guessing you don't know that based on your response.

Of that I have no doubt. Intent was not to disparage your service. Seeing as Marines have been trained to be the right hand of God in delivering vengeance. However, the same can be said of Soldiers that were in certain combat MOS' in the Army. Let's say, they were the left hand God. Thus, being brothers in arms.

The VA re-evaluates disability ratings of veterans all the time. Some cases they do go down. Most of the time they stay the same. You would never go up without submitting medical evidence of your condition getting worse.

There are actually time periods base on your age for reevaluations

Yeah. I know all about that. Kinda hard when paperwork documenting an injurious event is lost at the company level, or never entered into medical records while serving. Then that injury is aggravated somehow later after service causing a debilitating condition.
