It only takes 10 cases to fill up the hospital? Am I reading that correctly?

No, they're just making hay about covid. And in language that makes me want to punch their face for them.

CalvertHealth Med Center has 90+- hospital beds. So what about those other 80 inpatients? I'm guessing most of those were preventable as well. They should have eaten better, taken better care of themselves, gotten more exercise, not drive like a maniac, not engage in risky behavior, etc etc. But are they being chastised and stigmatized? No. Just the covid patients.

I'm so sick of the "medical community" and their haranguing.

Sure would love to know if there are any comorbidities involved with these patients. I bet there are. I also wonder how they know these people have COVID. I wonder if they are using the not fit for purpose PCR or RT-PCR tests?

So apparently because of a State IT network issue, SMCHD cannot update their Covid numbers or provide certain services. No new data since Dec 5th. Why should a state issue affect county data? And what services can’t the county health department provide because Of a state IT issue? No booster shots? No free condoms? Oh I’m sorry Dr Brewster, there Is an IT issue at True Value headquarters so I will not be able to enforce your mask mandate among my employees or customers...

As an EMT, I see many times the ER's are just plain full of people using it as their primary care. Stubbed toes, sick for two weeks, nursing home abnormal labs from a days ago, think they can be seen quicker by taking a "taxi" ride by ambulance, prescriptions ran out, urgent care wants to close for the night and calls 911 for us to take their upset tummy patient off their hands....or sue happy accident patients with zero damage to cars. The ER system is simply over abused and it is only getting worse. I have yet to transport a COVID positive or symptom patient in Chuck County. Granted I have only been riding on "Medical Monday" nights for the last several years so I can't speak for other nights or counties.

And you'd think Charles County would see way more covid people than Calvert because they have double the population.

I know that when we were in Branson the hospital was getting money from the state AND fed for every covid patient they admitted. Needless to say, suddenly everyone who walked in that hospital was diagnosed with the rona. And my understanding is that it was that way with hospitals all across America - the more covid, the more money they got.

I have to believe that contributes a good deal to Calvert County maxing out their hospital beds on "covid patients".

In Florida - God's waiting room - the covid rate is one of the lowest in the country, and the whole state is largely open and there is no mask mandate. How do the covid hysterics explain that?

but, but, but there was a huge spike a couple of months ago .........

I'd explain it with science and common sense .....

Summer in Florida = people in doors in the AC when the weather cools covid infections drop as more people are outside
Up North = people outside in the spring summer and fall = less infections ... now that winter is kicking in, even the most jab'd population is seeing huge numbers of infected as people are indoors on top of one another

I'm not sure why Cali is seeing a huge rise in numbers ... the weather should be milder now so more people should be outside .... perhaps more are in doors in the ' winter ' months

whatever the reason are .... Jab's don't stop the spread, nor do masks or lock downs

Because in Florida they largely dealt with the virus the way they should - it's not Ebola and it's not the plague. When you have people without an immune system like all those movies with "bubble" boys or girls - you protect the vulnerable. If you knew someone with hemophilia, you protect HIM - you don't wrap the WORLD in bubble wrap. So why do people make decrees locking stuff down? Because it's easy. It's easy to say "ok all schools are closed until further notice" and wash your hands. Let the schools and parents figure it out. (That's an example). It's easy to make rules if you're a politician.

It worked in Florida for a couple reasons - the vulnerable - the vast elderly population - they protected themselves. They used treatments to deal with the infected. They did not put all of their efforts into vainly trying to STOP a virus that clearly cannot be stopped, and stopped using number of cases as "proof" they need more draconian measures and for God's sake, didn't turn into a police state when people violated measures which are flouted by the rich and powerful. They focused on helping the infected - JUST LIKE YOU WOULD a cold, the flu, strep throat and so on.

If you can heal those that get sick, you don't have to waste so much time trying to make sure it can't happen.

Why you always gotta be tryin use common sense? People don't panic over that chit!

Nope. As I've explained before, as well as science, that in the northern latitudes, such as our area between 35º and 40º latitude, beginning in the fall around the autumn equinox, Sept 22nd, is about the time that the sun's UVB rays cannot penetrate the atmosphere anymore due to the angle of the earth and the distance the sun's rays must travel through the atmosphere to simply reach ground level. UVB rays are what is needed, when absorbed by human skin to produce Vitamin D, actually a hormone, that greatly impacts the immune system by keeping it strong. The UVB rays will start to reach the surface again starting in the spring around the time of the spring equinox, March 20th. So that's about six (6) months time, where no mater how long you are in the sun, even completely naked, between September 22 and March 20, your body will not produce any Vitamin D, though you can still get a sunburn from the UVA rays. That's the main reason why people's Vitamin D levels wane over this period and people get sick. Other than having a crappy diet that does not provide the Vitamin D levels they need to get through this time period. As a matter of fact, studies have been done that show severely low Vitamin D levels in the majority of the American population.

So how does one maintain sufficient Vitamin D levels to ward off illness during the UVB lacking months? Fresh fish, (not the farm raised Frankenfish), Herring contains the most vitamin D, but others including salmon, catfish, sardines, mackerel, are good as well as having lots of good healthy Omega-3 fatty acids. Cod liver oil. Eggs. Mushrooms exposed to sunlight prior to eating. Beef, calf or chicken liver. And there is more. Or take a good supplement. But if you supplement, you must also take Vitamin K, in about a 4 to 1 ratio. Or for K2, eat green leafy vegetables, such as kale, spinach, turnip greens, collards, Swiss chard, mustard greens, parsley, romaine, and green leaf lettuce and vegetables such as Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage.

Remember all ... Diet is the leading cause of all body inflammation. Inflammation leads to getting sick because it can't handle all the inflammation at once. Especially when lacking in Vitamin D and all the other necessary nutrients your body needs. This is the major, provable reason, why many get sick during the winter months.
