So, anybody do shingle roofing?

First night back in the house after an awesome vacation, and the house let me know that it's time to spend more money.

I need a new roof. I can do shingles, and actually need to add a roof vent anyway. Two problems: natural redwood cathedral ceilings, and two chimneys. I have never had to deal with with either one.

Any suggestions? Anybody know a good roofer? Better yet, any roofers interested in a a roofing party before it gets too hot?

I had a new roof put on my old house in Lusby about 4 years ago by Southern Style Builders. They're in Lusby and did a very good job.

Let us know too and we can try and make it. I do know that the next 3 weekends we are booked up solid!

:bawl: I'd help - but its too high off the ground for me, and I would start thinking I need a parachute and next thing you know I'd be having a panic attack on your roof, complete with flashbacks and visions of snipers....we wouldn't want that.
If ya ever need cement mixed - I'm definitely your mud girl.

Did you ever get your roof replaced?

I did get two estimates and I swear, the contractors down here are smoking crack. Good Luck!

There the ones that gave me the $10k estimate. get a second estimate after theirs. Southern Style is WAY to proud of their work for my wallet. They also gave me an estimate for a deck. Needless to say, they didn't get that one either.

Wow, they did my roof, including all new sheathing, for about $4k if I remember correctly. The roof had a lot of pitches, too, so it took a lot of custom cuts, plus flashing around the chimney. I'm surprised they were so high but they do excellent work.
