Power with Control
Once I get my back sorted out, of course............

So, if I were to try this in the water out from St Marys City, with a cheapie $15 short rod, what sort of tackle would be the way to go? Heck, what sort of fish would I be looking to catch? Bait of some sort, preferably not live, want simple, bobber or repeated casting? Kayak is a 9.5 Swifty, so everything needs to take into account how little room there is and that there is no rod holder.

Not looking to make a major hobby of this, just piddling around to see if I like it. Seems the osprey and terns do well:)

Go after small bass with a fly rod.

Get yourself a ultra-light setup and 1/8oz beetle spins( I use chartreuse) and fish around jetties and downed trees, you'll have a blast catching perch and an occasional rockfish
