So much for Renewable

In an epic case of poor foresight, the “clean, green” wind industry forgot to come up with a plan for what to do with wind turbine blades after they stop working.

Like all things, they get old and stop functioning properly after a while, but the plastic used to make them lasts virtually “forever.”

Just sneakin' around....
Kind of the same problem with solar. In a few years there is going to be a glut of old panels and right now, no way to recycle them.

Why are you posting an article that is essentially a plagiarized version of a Bloomberg article that was published in Feb?

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/feat...be-recycled-so-they-re-piling-up-in-landfills

The article mentions a number of ways scientists and entrepreneurs (actual ones, not the fake ones like our President) are looking at ways to recycle/reuse the blades.

I know...I know...you people don't believe in science...or people actually finding ways to solve problems.

For those who read more than the headline, near the bottom it says:

A Texas startup called Global Fiberglass Solutions has developed a method to break down blades and press them into pellets and fiber boards to be used for flooring and walls.

“We can process 99.9% of a blade and handle about 6,000 to 7,000 blades a year per plant,” said Chief Executive Officer Don Lilly. “When we start to sell to more builders, we can take in a lot more of them. We’re just gearing up.”

Also, not so terrible when compared to real problems like this:

https://spectrum.ieee.org/aerospace/military/hanford-has-a-radioactive-capsule-problem

Pretty sure IEEE isn't a political spin machine.

Could it possibly be that renewable energy challenges the massive profits, and economic power, of big oil and power companies who may have a vested interest in downplaying the former? Let us not forget about the infamous PetroDollar which becomes less and less effecive as oil becomes more and more unnecessary. There's the Big Picture.

You fool ! Do you not understand that most everything in our economy is derived from oil . Your simplistic approach is laughable, big oil is not going anywhere it may be scaled down but it is going to be with us until the last barrel is extracted from this planet.
