So my cats' new thing

is to drag out the kids' toys at night. The other day there was a stuffed baby doll and a batman action figure in the kitchen. This morning, there's the same stuffed doll, a Stitch doll (from Lilo and Stitch), a teddy bear, and a plastic play-doh cookie cutter.

 My cats are so strange. :eyebrow:

Do they have kitty toys? Sounds like they are bored

Well, they've got some balls with bells in them...and I bought them a couple little stuffed things, but they never seem interested.

My cat does the same thing. I'll come home from work and if the girls have left their bedroom doors open, he'll help himself to whatever stuffed animals and toys he wants.

:lmao: That actually did cross my mind. Maybe the teddy bear was chasing dollie, and Stitch came to the rescue to throw a cookie cutter at teddy and save her?

My kitty drags my socks with him everywhere...leaves them by his food, puts them in his bed, etc. One day he knocked off the basket with all my hair stuff in it and hid them underneath my scale. Put the headbands in the bathroom sink. This morning he emptied a box of tampons and scattered them across the room. He has toys, he just likes my stuff better. :roflmao:

The reason he does all that IS because he really does like your stuff better. Your cat is part of his "tribe". You do not mark your space like he does by rubbing his scent on stuff.
You mark your space by your scent left on socks, shirts, toys, underware, etc. You leave for the day, or go to sleep, he associates you the awake person who plays with him, to the asleep you who's scent is everywhere.
So, he plays with your scented belongings becasue you are not there. Understand?

When getting new toys, stuff them in the laundry basket..get that new store smell offand your scent on it.
Tampons: it is the cotton..give a cat a Q-tip and he does the same thing. Watch and learn, cats can be very educational. Have Fun!!! :howdy:

He started swiping my stuff after he got better. He was at a point where I was feeding him wet food off my finger, so I attributed it to me being his momma, and him wanting my scent on his food and bed. It's still cute to see a little three and a half pound kitten walking around with a sock in his mouth. :roflmao:

P.S. The tampons are sealed in wrappers, I wouldn't be laughing about a cat playing with opened tampons. :roflmao:

Patrick MacDonald does a comis stip called Mutts, and some times he has the cat, Mooch, playing with his Little Pink Sock..so funny,,and so true cat behavior!!
And Yup..the way we treat our pets, feed them, love them, provide for them keeps them in a kitten type state forever.
The more we encourage this, the tighter the bond, and play is so important with cats, and dogs.
A great web site with funny videos and stuff is HERE Check it out sometime. :howdy:

Have you seen this?

Having a loving, cuddly kitty is new to me. My mom's cat has always been a little old lady (even when she was a kitten) and only likes my mom. My cat loves and will cuddle with anyone.

I bought my male cat these toy mice. He would take them in and out of the house and it never failed, 2-3 a.m., MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEMEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW :blahblah:

I'd have to get out of bed and take them from him.

Both my cats always want to sit on my lap when I'm on the potty. :twitch:

That's funny...sounds like he's half ferret. My mom had a ferret once, and that little bugger would steal EVERYTHING he could drag. He loved to hide things...but 99% of the stuff would end up under my bed. Socks, unused pads, little stuffed animals... Once a week I'd have to clean out under my bed. :lmao:

They have learned your routine..you sit, they have a lap..and are in a place where your scent is stongest...kinda like when a cat smells the butt of another cat..it is where the scent glands are located ..all perfectly normal in the mind of a cat..we just dont always get it and think their behavior is weird or gross. It is all about being a part of the tribe of the cat.
