So, should I get the new Pixel phone? From the Goog or Verizon

Their plan is to link that phone and your account to everything else Google. Not sure I want to give them that much control or info.

They already have the info, rest assured. The control we still have some left, I think.

if you use Gmail on your iPhone or Android they probably get that already.

If you don't plan to use the Dream VR or tie the device to Amazon Home I don't see a reason to get it. And this is coming from someone that owned a Nexus One, Nexus S, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, skipped the Nexus 6 (overpriced and 5 was still great), and would have got a 6P if I didn't get a screaming deal on an S7 Edge first.

And seriously, still no wireless charging?

Both of these devices are in my opinion about $150-200 overpriced. I would have jumped ship to one of the Chinese manufacturers a while ago if they supported the proper LTE bands here in the states.

I think you may be better of with an Axon 7 or Oneplus 3.

My current phone Droid Turbo, has wireless charging, never bothered to use it.

To each their own. I have a wireless charging pad on my bedside and another one on the hall tree where I put my keys/wallet when home. I can just throw the phone down and it charges, I never need to fiddle with a cable or worry about damaging the connector in the phone. And it's easy to reach over and grab the phone/replace the phone with one hand while in bed.

And back when I worked a desk it was great because I didn't need to plug/unplug the phone all day long but still had full charge.

Maybe if my phone didn't have such a silly battery, I might feel the need more. I plug in at night and don't sweat it all day. With the fast charging, if I thin it's low after wok, I plug in for 10 minutes and get over 50% back.

My N5 didn't have a removable battery (neither does my S7) and the former didn't have fast charge. Even though my current phone does, I don't plan to use it as it does reduce battery life. Maybe not by a lot, but I plan to keep my phone for at least two years so I am not taking any chances.

My battery isn't removable either. I'm at two years now with the Droid turbo, battery seems fine, and fast charging is maybe =90% of how I charge it. My concern with the wireless charging is the heat it generates and it's potential for long term damage. wifes has the 32gb version, same experience

Heat is also my concern, which is why I don't fast charge. My experience has been that wireless charging (not wireless fast charging, which is also a thing) doesn't heat up the phone or the battery even as much as normal slow charging.
