This is not a static thing...
There were genuine patriots in 1776 who had it all and put it all on the line...and lost much.
So maybe their kids were spoiled and so forth but while that was happening otehr men were Tory's, afraid of taking a chance on this new nations. Many of their children became patriots, some ashamed of their parentes, some simply getting on board and now willing to suport the new nation because it was succeeding.
My point is that all manner of kids are in all manner of positions as to what they value. Even with this 'bad' war all branches of the military are finding an awfully good number of people willing to volunteer who KNOW there's fighting going on.
It's big picture.

But as I have so often said, we have lost much of our freedom, because government is doing things it does not have the authority to do. Every power government assumes it steals from either the states or the people.Larry Gude said:
