Sorry Larry, I'm so sick of this stupid discussion. There's already a thread about a bazillion pages long on this topic. I may have posted in it, I really don't remember. This thread was started to discuss the impact or lack thereof. People started saying that they didn't think there'd be much of an impact, and certain smokers got all upset and then started discussing WHY they thought the ban was wrong. I'm bored with it.

First of all, why is this such a hard concept for the average smoker to comply with? We know that smoking is hazardous to one's health, yet people still continue to do it. i have a few friends who are smokers, and I think they control themselves quite well around me, considering the fact that I don't smoke. People who do smoke need to be mindful of others around them they may not want to inhale the nasty fume. I know smokers who say they can't smell the smoke, but the nonsmokers sure can. I'm not saying smoking is to blame for the increase in cancer cases, but when I talked to one of the nurses at the hospital the other day she told me that since I was diagnosed back in 2000...there was about fifty new diagnosis' a year. Now from last year's stats it has risen to 75-80. Scary huh?
