Swedes or Americans?

I just finished watching "Let the Right One In", which was a bit slow, but had some excellent scenes of vampire slaughter. It was moody and subtitled, two aspects that would normally cause me to turn it off within 10 minutes. I don't do well with subtitles because it requires me to pay attention and not read or play a computer game during the movie.

Next up is "Let Me In", which is the American version.

Technically this one should go to the Swedes. The subtlety and bleakness makes their version more unsettling. However, I am an American with an American's love of in your face gore, no imagination required, so I'm going to call it a tie. But the pool scene belongs to the Swedish version, no contest.
