Falling numbers of state dentists in England has led to some people taking extreme measures, including extracting their own teeth, according to a new study released Monday.

While growing up I had a great Uncle that would extract his own tooth/teeth with a penknife. He also got very liquored up for these extractions. Guess he didn't have insurance or the money to pay someone else to do it.

I read through Hillary's proposal and didn't find anything promoting a healthcare system consisting of govt medical and dental personnel like they have in England. Her plan, like it or not, is solely focused on expanding insurance coverage like what members of Congress get.

There has to be a better way than what either country is doing to take care of their citizens.

I dont know any figures,but I would say most people in this country who have Medical insurance still have poor or no Dental plans.

The reason some of these people arent pulling their own teeth is that if they can afford the medical Insurance they can afford to have a tooth pulled. Still many arent getting crowns or caps or braces or proper dental care because they have no dental plan.

Having medical insurance does not always include dental.
