Software install problem

Trying to install software on my PC w/vista. I get an error message that says, "The parameter is incorrect" when I tell it to launch the setup.exe file.

Anyone know what the problem is?

Version of software is not Vista compatible.

Both the box and the software support website says it is. :shrug:

Edit: BTW the software is Turbotax. I have last year's version already installed on my computer....before you say it, uninstalling that is not an option because part of the point is to import last year's data.

Well, Vista just experienced it's daily crash and burn and upon restarting the computer, it requested a system check. After said system check, it immediately crashed again and upon restarting a second time, it is willing to install my software...

However, using the internet and installing software at the same time seems to be too much for the computer and it's acting like it's going to crash again.

You only need the data file itself, not TurboTax, to import to this year. You can uninstall TurboTax with no problem as long as your data file is safe. I keep mine in My Documents/Taxes/-year- I don't remember where TurboTax stores it by default or what the extension is.
