Great pictures. I love New Orleans and went back there last year - what a blast. I'm going again next year and can hardly wait.
Ooooh, very neat pictures! I have a New Orleans tripped planned, but it's not for many months out.
I have been reading a book that contains a bit of history on the ancestors of the Cajuns, the Acadians. During the Seven Years' War in the mid-18th century thousands of Acadians were forced from their homes by the British. They were redistributed throughout British Colonial lands, some went to France, and some ended up in Louisiana where they mixed with other peoples to create the Cajun culture. If you haven't been there...

All of that is interesting, but I doubt I would want to visit... photos are neat though.

I grant you that most of my knowledge of the "whole experience" has come from watching drunk partiers on Cops, movies and the stupidity of the Katrina aftermath. But I doubt I would have much fun there, and my instincts are usually right.Reading the history is fine, if you don't get out to see these places or any places you miss the whole experience.

If you post a good photograph I can enjoy it for what it is, regardless if I know where it came from or anything else.

Well, not to any cities the likes of New Orleans. And that is okay by me because I am happy where I am.Wow..... Media feeding of information? If you base your visits on that you will not go very far from home.
Why were you there? Only toppick would want to visit during Girls Gone Wild season, so you must have been for either business, family or something similar. There are not too many drunkards this time of year. Lots of business trips and family summer vacations.
