Great shots. :yay: But those red-tailed hawks look none to pleased with you being there.

Yeah I know...the were circling and screeeeeeming! They were hunting the small area I was walking through. When I heard the scream, I froze! Unmistakable screeeeeem! I love it! They are RARE here, predominately red shouldered around here.

Rare like those red-headed woodpeckers? :lmao: And how's the hunt for the elusive crested caracara coming?

Red-tailed hawks are seen and heard quite frequently around here so I know the sound well. I don't know that I've ever seen a red-shouldered hawk around here though.

Great pictures! The last one of the single hawk made me laugh. He looks like he's crossing his eyes and being silly because you're taking a picture of him. :lmao:

One went into a dive with the classic wings pinned back slightly tucked...missed that shot though, they pick up speed in a dive amazingly fast!

those hawks look ticked.. but beautiful.... :lmao:
I'm partial to the Duck pic... :yay:

I have walked by that part of the woods for years, never heard a peep...today I dawned the sniper suit and went looking in the area...the adults looked my direction once or twice in a few hours...and I almost was walked on by some deer:lmao:

This is why they were grrrrrrrrr. There is a sweet thick tall Magnolia out there about 40 or 50 feet from the nest, no spikes needed tomorrow:larry:
(Were shot at 800 ISO not tweaked yet, it was a bit dark)
