Some one ran over my dachshund

Lastnight around 7:45 somebody ran over our beloved dachshund Shiloh on Cedar Ln in Dameron. They never stopped. So the poor dog didn't have a chance. He was at the end of my drive way. So if anyone reading this knows anything about this. Or if your the one who done it. I hope that you don't lose anything that you really love. Then you'll know how I feel. If you had a heart or any feelings you would of atleast had the BALLS to stop and say something. But i guess your a coward. This dog never hurt anyone he loved everyone. I will miss his little legs running around and his fantastic personallity. I hope no one else goes through what I'm going through right now.

Sorry to hear about your loss. When i was younger our dog was hit. We were outside when it happened and the guy just took off. Luckily our neighbor was a police detective and when he heard the screaming he ran out and then hopped in his car and took off after him. Caught him before he even left the neighborhood.

I am so sorry :huggy: My Choc. lab was ran over 1 door down from my house, several years ago, and he was 100 pounds, so no way the driver had no clue that he struck a dog. What was upsetting to me is that because the person didn't stop, he didn't have a chance.

My neighbor, who worked down at the Indian Head Naval Base was leaving for work early in the morning and saw him in the ditch. I was just grateful he knew who the dog belonged to, but it was too late.

Sorry about the loss of your little buddy. :huggy:

You're right, the person should have at least stopped. He's a gutless coward :burning:

I am sorry you lost your dog. I think a lot of people hit animals and just keep going. Last week the dog that is forever running around the neighborhood was in the ditch. I felt bad for the dog but the people had been told several times to do something with the dog. He was always causing trouble with dogs that were in their own yard.

:yeahthat: :frown:

Had it happen to 2 of my dogs (including the one that was mine and mine alone, my best friend at age 10 or so)... and a cat.

Heart-wrenching. I couldn't understand at the time why my parents wouldn't rush it to the vet while she was laying there, taking her last breaths. :bawl:

I'm soo sorry to hear of your loss. I too had a dog get hit. It was my puppy growing up and had gotten loose chasing the older dog -- my brothers dog. The older dog saw me and new it was in trouble and out of fear of me bolted across the road... my puppy followed and a Blazer ran right over it. As a child and still today the memory is still vivid and in slow motion. The Blazer kept going a bit. I ran in the road and picked my puppy up and sat there bawling on my knees in the road - it was still barely alive but blood was coming out of his little nose and mouth and he smelt kind of funny. The guy in the Blazer backed up and offered me a ride to vets office - I accepted...meanwhile my brother's dog barked and barked at the man and wanted no parts getting in. I finally got him in and about two blocks from the hospital my puppy died in my arms. We turned around and he drove me home and apologized. He went on his way and I went mine... into the house... I explained what happened. My mother tried to take the dead puppy from my arm's I refused and locked my door and my best friend came over and tried to console me. After about an hour I parted with it and we burried him. After that incident I never wanted anything to do with messy, shedding, barking, meowing, fleabitten varmits ever again.

I remained that way for more than a decade and then let my heart open one more time for a cat name Sage - she retaught me how wonderful animals are.

So... I understand where you are coming from sweetie... animals are like our children (at least they are my children) and are members of the family - sometimes the best family members one can muster. I understand, I care and am sorry for your loss. My prayers will be with you and your family. If there is ANYTHING I can do to help let me know, even if its something simple as needing a listening ear or a dry shoulder. PM me and let me know. I pray that you are able to make through such trying time that has happened to you soo out of the blue. I believe your dog is in heaven and already meeting new Valentine's Day friends and eating pink hearts and pink and purple cake. :huggy: Dems~
