My sister's neighbor adopted a bi-racial baby boy about 5 months ago. I was talking to her this past weekend, and she was telling me some of the comments she's gotten from people. She was in a store and someone asked her rudely, "Why don't you put sunscreen on that baby?!" Dur...that's not a tan, genius. She's also gotten comments like, "Where'd you get that baby?" and, "Who's baby is that?"

People even give her a hard time because she's not breastfeeding. I can't believe that there are people out there rude enough to comment about it.

I have a VERY brown baby. I have a girlfriend who is mixed black/white who outright asked if I was sure that he was a white baby. But she's my friend so it wasn't all that rude. I had another friend that asked me what the ethnicity of the baby daddy was. And, I've heard from friends that people I knew casually through them had said that they'd seen me and I had a Mexican baby. They're all just jealous cause he's got pretty skin.

My little guy's got one hell of a nice tan, and thank goodness, because when we got him, I thought his skin was so fair, he'd always be burning.

We always put sunscreen on him, but he just can't stand to stay inside if he has a choice. Outside is just too much fun.

But he doesn't look a lot like his dad either.

G is dark and he couldn't definitely pass for an illegal.
