On the black and white splash it looks like you either have dirty dust water or you need to clean your sensor/lens. The shot is that crisp...tack sharp.
Gopher, It is probably just the bubbles in the bottom of the pan that was shot in. I noticed in a few pictures I could see the bubbles better than others.
