It should. He was part of a violent Catholic movement in the 1800's (not sure of the exact date) that attacked other Catholics as well as non-Catholics for not recognizing the supremacy of the Pope. The movement was so violent and political in making the Pope supreme, that it even scared kings and political leaders of various kingdom's into obeying the Pope's word for risk of losing their kingdom, even if it meant harming their citizens.
