Something is wrong with my mouse....

I have a static mouse on my laptop and this morning, if I touch the pad, the mouse flickers all over the screen and shakes. It is nearly impossible to point to a destination (very irritating). Strange thing is, if I press down firmly on the panel to the right of the mouse, the problem goes away.

Has anyone had this problem and if so, can you tell me what is wrong? I checked for missing screws but don't see any.

I really just want my mouse working again :tantrum

The static mouse will do that if your hands are sweaty or dirty. Try washing your hands and get the oil off. :yay:

Take a alchohol wipe and wipe the mouse off as well.

I have USB mouse at home, but I am not there....so right now I get to deal with this. The problem started a couple of weeks ago. Weird thing is, it was working great yesterday, but this morning, it just totally started acting up. You would not believe what it's doing if you saw it.

Well, I did turn it upside down last night. D says that was wrong but I told him it's not a turtle.

There may have been something loose, a screw or metal shaving, piece of solder, that got lodged in the circuits for the mouse. Try turning the unit on the side and shaking while it is powered off. See if anything rattles or if it sounds like a little piece of something is inside.

If that is the case, then it may clear up, but it is not fixed until the debris is removed.
