Something strange with email

I received an email from a client with some page changes, then her standard signature. When I went to reply to the email, I noticed that there was more text than what I had seen in the original. For example:

ORIGINAL:

Hi there Vrai,

stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff
stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff

Much love and affection,
Your adoring client for whom you do such a wonderful job

Okay, I sort of paraphrased that last part, plus she doesn't call me Vrai. Anyway, when I went to reply, the included email text read:

Hi there Vrai,

stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff
stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff stuff

Oh and there's more! blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

Much love and affection,
Your adoring client for whom you do such a wonderful job

Does that make sense? Any ideas how that would happen?

Depending on your settings, it's possible her font was in white and you didn't see it until you replied. Try highlighting the original message and see if the blah blah part shows up.

Is it possible some of the new text might have been part of an included attachment, or something generated by a script? In which case, it either hadn't loaded or may have been blocked until you chose to respond.

That's all I got.

Why would someone type an e-mail in white font?

some text was in white ..... hiding it in the back ground

No because there was no space for it between the first part of the message that I saw and her signature. I highlighted the whole message and nothing new showed up until I hit Reply or Forward. Then voila! There it is.

A mystery.....

aHA! I finally got smart and checked the source code for the email, and she apparently created it with Word. Anyway, she has a flawed style sheet element that effectively blocked out a paragraph of her text.

That was weird, never had that happen before. I don't think.....

It might have been enclosed in some special characters or control sequences. An earlier version of this website had that 'issue'. If anything was enclosed in "<" and ">", it was invisible until you replied to the message.

That's exactly what it was - she had a "Display: none" in the control for that section of text.
