"Soros-backed" politicians

Soros funnels big money into political campaigns, which tips the balance in their favor.

Why is that?

It's not like people go to the polls and are like, "Hmmm....which one raised the most money....Oh! This guy! (click)" So why is a big war chest so important? Where does all that money go? Sure, advertising but think about all the political ads you see on TV and the internet - do they really influence you? And to such an enormous extent?

I mean, I think I know where the bulk of that money goes but I'd like to hear what you all think.

I am not to target audience .... however if this didn't work, the money would not be spent on advertising ....

I do absolutely know that people will OFTEN tick off the name they've heard, especially in down ballot offices.

THAT only happens, with money.

Ditto big campaigns, where a barrage of heavily slanted news against your opponent - especially release at the right time - CAN make a difference.
Hence the endless list of "October surprises" we are always going to see.

We have campaigns out there which so convincingly made the case against their opponent based on a complete fabrication, that people STILL believe it. That costs money.

Steny doesn't really need to raise money. He's loaded. I think he throws his money to other Dem candidates so they can buy advertising ans such.

Where specifically do you think that money goes?

I don't know where the money from Soros goes, but I know what it does.

It buys politicians. It buys their votes. It buys power for Soros.
Any money given by super rich people is to buy the politician they make the gift to.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is crazy.

Ads Local and Cable TV ... Radio ... Signs on the side of the road

Get Out The Vote Drives

Paying Operatives to go door to door and harvest ballots

Would all that cost upwards of half a BILLION dollars?

Oh I'm talking about outright lies, like Romney not paying his taxes for ten years. The Russian collusion hoax.
That Dubya stole the election in 2000.

There are people who STILL believe Trump stole the 2016 election - period. (Of course, these very same people claim that just four years later, the most secure election in human history took place, despite the statistical improbability of it all).

I remember campaigns as a kid in local elections which came up with all kinds of lurid stories about candidates, most of which proved completely false, but people believed them anyway. Even afterward.

A LOT of it does to to advertising, but not for the reason you think. If you buy 100 prime-time ad spots you may convert a few undecided who see them. You WILL convert the producers of the primetime show you bought airtime on. They will then keep you in mind as they they oversee the narratives in their shows, or the guests, or even the hosts attitudes/comments.

You mean, like Hillary? Yeah. She had tens of thousands of campaign workers. Lawyers. Dinners with rich donors.

You spend money, to offer influence. You really can't "bribe" people who are already filthy rich.

That is what I think. Something is getting these news people to further a narrative and bury other stories, and I'm pretty sure it's not just personal ideology.

Well that is Presidential Money spent across the country .... so yes

you can look up the FEC Records and see where the money went

Soros is not spending that kind of money ... only a couple million dollars in local DA elections can make a difference

If I may ...
If I may ...

This is just too funny. What's the saying, "To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize"?

He's a Nazi war criminal, which just goes to show you that with enough money you can get away with anything.

How George Soros funded progressive ‘legal arsonist’ DAs behind US crime surge

george-soros-1.jpg

Working with an activist attorney, Soros, 91, mainly funnels cash through a complicated web of federal and state political action committees as well as non-profits from coast to coast, public records show.
Last year, the Foundation to Promote Open Society, a nonprofit in Soros’ orbit, gave $3 million to the Community Resource Hub for Safety and Accountability, according to a recent report. The group provides resources to “local advocates and organizations working to address the harm of policing in the US.”
Hungarian-born philanthropist Soros and his Open Society group of non-profits have mainly doled out cash to political action campaigns controlled by attorney and criminal justice reform activist Whitney Tymas, 60. She is the treasurer of the Justice and Safety PAC as well as 20 other similarly named groups at both the state and federal levels, according to public filings.
