Sound Card Fried?

Steve

Enjoying life!
I have a Dell XPS600 with an Audigy 2 ZS sound card. I powered down the computer two days ago, removed the power cord, then set everything back up today. Now I have no sound, and the following message at black screen:

Error allocating [memory block] at IRQ for PCI device

And of course, no sound.

Is my Blaster card fried, or maybe a conflict? I have reloaded the ZS drivers, yada yada... Still no sound. No visible evidence of a cross wire on the board. Electricity gets to the dumb speakers, proven by the 'rub' sound. All drivers in place.

So I'm guessing the sound card is fried and chewing up IRQ space in its feeble attempt to live.

Otherwise, the computer works fine. But no sound.

Kernel panic: Aiee.......
See what happens if you remove the sound card and put it back. It may have just moved out of it's slot a tiny bit.
