MERRITT ISLAND -- A horse wound up in a backyard pool after accidentally falling in Friday.

The horse, which belongs to a neighbor, is blind. Brevard County deputies said it wandered into a neighbor's backyard and fell into the pool.

Deputies said they were able to lure the horse into the shallow end of the pool, then got him out safely.

Totally agree he needs a better fence. Sounds to me like the neighbors need a fence (or a pool cover) too. What if this would have been a kid that fell into this open pool? I know there are safety requirements for having a pool in other states. Maybe Florida needs them if they don't have 'em.
