I haven't noticed a problem. I think it's gone rather smoothly.

You go around all of it  I've been plodding through it all, it took me two and half hours this morning to get in :dead:

This is probably a dumb question but why would they put stop lights ON the bridge??? I don't think there's much traffic that will be making left or right hand turns off the bridge

"We rehabilitated the structure. We put in new streetlights on the bridge and new guard rails. We painted the bridge and we were able to slightly widen the sidewalks in some places," Moneme says.

 Do you think that streetlights are stoplights?

That's because of the hours you work, you're in the thick of it. Oh, and the fact that you won't try another route.

September is the WORST traffic month ever anyway.

:yahoo: Traffic much better today!! :yahoo: What was starting to average 2.5 hours coming in is now (as of today) a little over 1.5 hours :yahoo: I hope it wasn't because EVERYONE wanted to take the new bridge and will be back on the 11th St. bridge in the mornings in a few weeks  Anyone take the Douglas in? What's it like? I only take that bridge when I go home. :yahoo: Happier commute in :yahoo:

Traffic was relatively light today. Wait until Tuesday to get the real feel.

All week, I've been off a day so this morning I was going in thinking this was Friday and the real test would be next week. It should be even lighter tomorrow :yahoo: Tues, and Wed. next week will be the test. Will wait before I move alarm clock back to a later wake up time

Yep..everyone will be back from vacations and all the schools are back in session. By the end of next week, everything will be in full swing.

For me, I go through Charles, PG and DC and all those schools started this week , I don't think VA schools opening next week will make anything worse for me  :bonk: I'm tryign to be optimistic :bonk: :bonk:

 i could probably see jaywalking becoming a problem; cars blocking the intersection, and people slowing to view the stadium. i think it's 2 traffic lights--i hope they are timed logically and in sync.

We used the bridge last night and again this morning. I like the new design...really nice. We won't use it every day..too crowed on regular traffic days...this morning was a breeze.

It was a breeze on the 11th street too this morning - guess traffic was light, hopefully tuesday will be as well as folks in va might be staying home or coming in late because it's their kid's first day of school. Yesterday I took the newly designed bridge home... I was in left lane there there's LOTS of mini hills like speedbumps that need to be smoothed out. but I like the design. BTW, I don't follow baseball, what are the odds of a baseball being hit out of the ballpark these days? Is it possible to have a baseball go through the windshield??

Not a foul ball. The outfield is toward the Capitol...home plate is near that bridge.
