South Capitol Street Bridge pictures

Can we assume the new bridge will ba a draw span? The old one was,and since this one will be before we get to the Navy Yard I assume this one will be. Either that or sail boats and the US Navy will not be going up the Anacostia, since the new bridge is supposed to be much lower.. If it is a draw span it will probably be up a lot more since the new bridge will be much lower.

Look about 15 frames down in the link, it appears that the portion over the water is unchanged.

Yes: I see that now. Kinda makes you wonder why they stayed up in the air all that distance in the first place , doesnt it?

Glad to see it go, a little late though. I drove across that POS every day for 4 years. Crazy how it's going to be 800' shorter.
