It's a joke . Biden ran against two people that no one on this forum can name without looking it up.
They wouldn't allow Kennedy in it. Biden got 127,000 votes. BFD

yeahbut.......The NBC network affiliate found an elderly WOC lady in the street. She said "Biden be carin' and he do lotta stuff"... so.... kind of hard to beat that.
That’s the classic intelligent, informed democrat voter right there.

Wow. Total number of voters LAST time in the Dem primary over three times the votes.

The newsbots are making a big deal about Biden's "big win"...in the SC Democrat primary....

:roflmao:

I guess you take whatever you can get but the incumbent almost always wins their re-election primary. They're acting like he won the PCH sweepstakes or something. "OMG he won! Clara, he won!! I can't believe it! Let's call all our friends! Joe Biden won the SC Democrat primary!!!! I think I'm going to cry!"

:lmao:

Would you have voted for Trump in the 2020 primary? What would be the point?

Of course. I don't get to vote in primaries anymore, which is just bullshit, but when I was a Republican I voted in every single one of them even if my guy was the incumbent. I love to vote. I think I should get to vote for every single thing Congress or especially my local government does. Give us all the budget and we redline what we don't want. Those peckerheads shouldn't be able to breathe without our permission.

The point being that if everyone's all "Ah, he's got it in the bag..." and doesn't vote, you end up with Wilbur Doohickey who got 10 votes but nobody else showed up so on to the big time he goes.

And it isn't, because you don't belong to a PARTY, so you shouldn't have a say in who the PARTY chooses to nominate.

I realize that for most of this nation's history, if you weren't part of a political PARTY you don't usually run, but it's the party itself that chooses who will represent them.

I'm utterly against this whole "open" primary - which is an engraved invitation for members of the opposing parties to nominate weak candidates - but also because it breaks the whole point. You wouldn't want people from other states pick your Senator, or people from other countries pick your President.

If we didn't have a two-party system in this country with no hope of an outsider getting some play, I'd agree. As it stands almost 30% of registered voters in this country get no choice - they can only choose between whoever the Ds or Rs pick. Because I don't belong to a Party I should be able to vote in both primaries.

I wish the freaking Libertarians would get their heads out of their dope smoking asses and be serious. As it stands literally everything in their platform boils down to they want to lay on their ass and do drugs all day. It's annoying because you think they have a point and you're nodding in agreement, then they can't help but remind you that all they really want is to get baked without anyone bothering them. And for all their "Oh, we want government out of our lives!" you know damn well that when they OD they want that government provided NARCAN. When they can't pay their bills because they're unemployable due to drug use, they absolutely want that Uncle Sugar money.

Politics is a fraud and we're stupid for letting it be this way. 🤷‍♀️

Nope. The primaries aren’t an extra round of voting. It’s the process for how a party picks its nominee. Prior to the sixties, nominees were chosen by delegates sent to conventions.

I also am not in a party. I’m fine with not having a choice in who a party nominates, just as I’m fine with people from other states or districts choosing my representative or senator. And if you start a party, you and your members can choose.

Two parties, three parties ad infinitum makes no difference. As long as elections are FPTP (first past the post) elections will always come down to two choices, because the math converges to two. If we did runoff - same thing.

Nations which have parliaments choose coalitions. I’m not sure I like that either.

As long as every major issue can be distilled into two choices it’s gonna be two parties.
