The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, according to KABC.

Detectives said it's too early in the investigation to determine if the homeowner shot in self-defense, KCBS reported.

So... How hard can it be to determine that the dead perp, who arrived in a stolen car and forced his way in needed killin?

We must first determine if the homeowner asked the wayward gentleman in his home to politely vacate the premises. There may have simply been a totally legitimate misunderstanding of sorts.....and deadly force may have been absolutely uncalled for.

Well if the homeowner didn’t have a fence, a warning sign written in both English and Spanish, and free subsidies on the porch, he’s up poops creek.

When a person enters or tries to enter your home when you are inside it must be realized that the person has no qualms about hurting or killing you if you encounter him.
Therefore it is a foregone conclusion that it is you or him.
Make sure it's him.

So....if you wondermutts of the internet would ever bother to read the original article (which was actually linked in the Fox article), you might actually be informed and have your inane questions answered.

Here is the original local news report: https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2019/09/19/san-pedro-attempted-burglary-fatal-shooting/

There are significant details that Fox left out:

Officials said the homeowner told the suspect he would call the police if he didn’t leave. The suspect reportedly replied, “F–k the police.”

So, to answer the asinine posts...the article says the intruder was warned.

The apparent intruder was shot three times.

That could be a problem for the homeowner because:
Police say the initial investigation suggests the homeowner — a retired LA City Firefighter — and apparent intruder got into a physical struggle before the homeowner used his own gun to shoot him. It’s not clear if the intruder was armed. Detectives say it’s too early in the investigation to determine if the shooting was self-defense.
...

The suspect had not been publicly named. Officials told Kim no weapon was found on the suspect.

If getting into a physical struggle with a stranger, that just broke into your home, isn't situation where deadly force is necessary, I don't think I can come up with a more appropriate scenario.

The rate punk crooks are getting waxed by homeowners, won't be long before they go the way of the dinosaurs.
