I am looking for people to help start a roller derby league here in Southern Maryland.

It is just me right now but the league is called Southern Maryland Roller Derby and will initially be all women skaters, 18 and over. Men are welcome to officiate.

No experience or physical ability is necessary, just the desire to skate and a sense of commitment. No age cap, either.

Theres a well established team in Salisbury Maryland. Called The Salisbury Rollar Girls. You can check out their facebook page for more information. They have played a few bouts, they are flattrack.

Salisbury is over 3 hours from the area where I live. Roller derby requires at least 3 nights a week to practice not including volunteer events and bouts.

We are actually getting together this Saturday 11/19/2011 at 5:45 pm at Leonard Hall Recreation Center 23145 Leonard Hall Drive, Leonardtown, MD 20650.

St. Mary's County Government - Department of  Recreation and Parks

$4.00 to get in and $2.00 to rent skates. It is just a public open skate so no equipment is required.
