Southern Maryland Wildlife Photos ?

I would like to throw out the offer to anyone willing to share pictures of Southern Maryland wildlife. We have been playing with the idea of offering a section on the SMST website for folks to post pictures of "wild game" wildlife from Southern Maryland in a non-hunting pictorial.

We'd like to see examples of deer, turkey, squirrels, ducks, geese etc. , We're not really interested in cardinals and swans, if you understand what we are interested in, we'll post the names of the photographers and the location of the shot as well, if anyone is interested, you may mail your pictures, name, and location of photos to us at SMST@SOMD.NET

Methodically disorganized
deer, turkey, squirrels, ducks, geese etc.
There was a deer-specific thread a while back (couple months). And there have been 10,000 - give or take - osprey photos posted over the past couple years. All could be found if you do a search.

You may want to mention to people, that if they submit photographs, you all are selling them. I imagine with no cut to the photographer??

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this, "you all are selling them", we are not selling anything to anyone. We simply would like to post pictures that are submitted by folks and we will give them credit for the photographs, of course. If they choose to submit photos and we have gathered enough to make it worth our efforts to organize a page to showcase their work, then we may proceed with the venture, but, if they do not wish to submit photos, then that's their choice of course, we are not interested in selling pictures, we simply would like to showcase Southern Maryland photographers and their work related to a specific category of subjects as it relates to our website.

Please explain what you mean.

What I was refering to is, on your page now you have photos of people with their deer and turkey. That is great, I enjoy seeing happy people with the rewards of their hunt! But right next to each picture is a "Buy" button, and then it lists a price that prints of those images are sold for. I don't know if you are planning on starting a new gallery of Photographs that will not be listed for sale, or if people's submitted photos will fall into that gallery.

Thanks for you response to this issue. I am not trying to bust anyones balls, so please don't take it that way. Some people will have no problem with posting their images and the web site listing them and selling the images. Others may have an issue with that.

Thanks
Jason

Hello Jason,

Thanks for your reply. I now understand what it is you are referring to. To make a long story short, no, the "wildlife" gallery will not be set as a slide show, the pictures will be listed on an individual page of the website in a non slide show format. I think you have also brought something else to our attention that we will have a look at as well...

Jason.

We took your comments and we restructured our photo album, we all agreed that you had a valid point and after we understood your thinking, we decided to take a different approach to the photo album on the website.
