Southern Maryland Wine Festival

I am trying to get a feel for having a wine festival in Southern Maryland. I know other wine festivals have been stictly an adult event with minimal things for the kids to do. My idea would be more family oriented with more for the kids as well as adults. While I am structuring an outline for this event I wanted to get an opinion/feelings from some of the population of Southern Maryland. I am aware that there are two events one in Calvert one in St. Mary's that are wine festivals.

thanks

I've gone to various wine festivals. The ones I've like the most combine live entertainment with other things to do, like vendors and tours of the winery.

My favorite so far has been the festivals at Linganore Cellars east of Frederick, Maryland. They have live music set up on a stage with plenty of room to kick back and relax, guided tours of the winery, a huge shop of their wines and wine accessories, and lots of arts & crafts and food vendors set up. :yay:

I also like the Riverside Winefest at Sotterley in Hollywood, too. Lots of wine tastings, good food, live music, plenty of exhibits and demonstrations, all sorts of vendors, stuff for the kids to do, all set in very beautiful surroundings.

Good luck!

Went to this wine festival last year, AWESOME! It's scheduled for September 15 and 16th of this year, and you can find wines that don't taste like Boone's Farm. Primarily local Virginia vineyards. Bring a cooler with crackers and cheese, and taste (read: drink free) wine.

I like Boone' Farm and Annie Green Springs and cheese cracka's !

Not to mention Mad Dog 20/20.

There will be a wine tasting festival at the Port Tobacco Courthouse on Sept. 22, 2007. (Charles County) It's a benefit for Civista Medical Center.

There will also be a silent auction.
