Southern Tire vs. Mr. Tire

I need to get a front & rear wheel alignment done on my vehicle and was wondering if anyone has had any positive/negative experiences at either Southern Tire or Mr. Tire in Waldorf? Southern Tire had the better price, but Mr. Tire said they'd match it, so the cost is a non-issue.

TIA!:1bdz:

I trust the guys at Southern Tire in Lex Park. They've never treated me badly, always worked with me even on some very tough issues. I had mine in for an alignment, didn't need anything, didn't get charged.

Can't answer for the Waldorf shop.

NOT Politically Correct!!
Laser alignments at Tires Plus in California MD, behind BJ on the right hand side. Tommy the manager and his crew do excellent work at reasonable prices!!! :coffee:

Mr Tire might match there price, but watch out once they get it apart they are going to tell you it needs this and this and this. I use to get my oil changes from Mr. Tire everytime I did they would come back and say you need this done or this done. Had a Subaru once took it in they said I needed new serpintine(sp) belt, I said Ok I'll look into it took it to Subaru dealer in Waldorf, made a appt. the day comes check it in and a little while later, they called me from the waiting room and said belt doesnt need to be replaced left with no charge and smile on my face. Ive dealt with Southern Tire for about 30 years first in Waldorf then in Charlotte Hall when they opened, Tommy and Bobby in there never ripped me off. Mechcanicsville Mr. Tire.:nono:

Mr Tire in Leonardtown was always good to me, can't say that for the Mr Tire in Mechanicsville.

Methodically disorganized
Took my truck to Southern Tire in La Plata several times and they consistently did well by me. Never went to Mr. Tire (Waldorf) for work, but one of my cousins used to date a guy who worked there and he was an idiot, so...

I would recommend Southern Tire. I have used the ones in Waldorf, Charlotte Hall and Lexington Park and have been happy at all three. I used to work next to Mr. Tire in Charlotte Hall and would recommend to our customers to go elsewhere.

X2 on that. I've mainly dealt with Bobby at the Charlotte Hall Southern Tire. Very good guy, straight up no hassle and no rips offs. He even offered to sell my old tires for me (they were still decent) so I even made a little cash!

I can't speak for Waldorf but, I've used Southern Tire in Lex'Park and was very satisified with their work and customer service. However, I recently had to get my brakes replaced on my F-150 and was quoted $321 for one axle at Southern Tire. I began to check around and found Mr. Tire would perform the break job for $276 on BOTH axles. They were very polite and quick! Even ate the cost on 2 new front rotors because their machine could not resurface mine. My money is now on Mr. Tire (Lexington Park)

All I can say is you get what you pay for and Buyer Beware. My daughter got a great deal too 5 x's till they got it straight and thought she should pay them each time for their f*** up

Mechanicsville Mr Tire sucks! Bobby at Southern will work with you if you had shown him your estimate

They're out to get us
Southern Tire in Lexington Park did a great job and was very helpful when I went there. They actually went out of their way for a few things that I really appreciated. Good customer service.

I'd choose Southern Tire over Mr. Tire. I've had much better service and in general a better experience with Southern Tire than Mr. Tire.

Big Ed's Tire in Leonardtown or La Plata Tire in Laplata. No games played and they wont tear your car apart looking for something to fix. They both have the laser alignment systems. Anybody that price matches is going to rip you off on something!
