Does anyone on here go to Southpoint Church? I found it on the internet and was curious of your opinions...

I have some friends who go there and they seem to like it. They use to go to Waldorf before the church moved here.

I've been at South Point since they started, almost 2 years. We really, really love it. For 12years previous we had been attending one of the larger Protestant churches in St. Mary's.
I never thought I'd go to a non-denominational church, much less than one that meets at the Higher Ed. Center. But it works..really works. Matt Hall is an amazing pastor. His sermons have excellent life application principles that make you think about them all week. The Bible is not "watered down" in any way. All messages are firmly grounded in Scripture. Give it a try! For us, it's the perfect combination of friendly/casual and the undiluted Gospel.

It's different but it's still church. Lots and lots of singing, contemporary music. The kids love it because they love Matt from Young Life and Wyld Life. The people are friendly and the program is very casual. You'd really have to experience it for yourself to see. Certainly worth your time.

Thank you so much for your input. I think my daughter (she's 9) and I will be trying it out this weekend. this is the first time either of us will be attending a church other than at Christmas. I am hoping to find one that doesn't make me feel bad about myself, but will help to enlighten me and teach me things that I have never learned about.

I have been too afraid to go to a church, for fear of being judged. Silly, but true.

I've been to that church quite a few times. I really liked it. I need to go back. It's a "no pressure" church and they never hound you for $. Big plus: You can wear jeans, sweats, whatever you want.

Oh, and they have donuts. :lmao:

It is the MOST un-judgmental (is that even a word) church I have ever attended. Very laid back and friendly. Music is AWESOME!

Lots of people go to church for that very reason. Judgement Day!

Not me. :nono: I want to go for inspiration and guidance. The judging will happen and it doesn't need to be every Sunday by people that really need to look at themselves instead of pointing their fingers at me.

One finger pointing away means three more are pointing back at yourself!!
