Sorry about that, it has been listed on our website on our "Upcoming events" page for a little over a month now, we also placed an ad in the Calvert Recorder. I just re-activated my SOMD.com account today and thought this would be useful info- did not realize at the time that Charles County offer was only through the month of Feb.

We are offering partial reimbursements through the month of March if you are a Calvert County resident.

Stray/ feral dogs and cats aren't the REAL problem.. they can just be put down.

When are they going to start reimbursing for spay and neutering your neighbors and the welfare cases??

It would take a lot more money to do that- and most wouldn't be willing- because they are too used to milking the system! It would be against their civil rights to make them! But that's a whole different thread...

Dogs and cats aren't willing either, and I'm not paying them.. and I doubt it would take MORE money.. maybe LESS money.

You can also call SPOT. They offer grants to have your pets spayed or neutered. I was able to have my cats fixed at no cost. You just have to make sure they participate with the vet you are using, which they can tell you when you call.

Southern Maryland Spay and Neuter, Inc is a non profit organization dedicated to ending the euthanasia of all healthy companions through low cost spay and neuter. We will operate the Stop Pet Overpopulation Thrift shop (SPOT). We will use the profits made through the sale of donated items to fund low cost spay and neuters. We will provide individuals and local humane organizations with grants for low and no cost spay and neuter of companion animals.

SPOT is also looking for volunteers to help at the thrift store. If you have an extra hour or three, I am sure they would appreciate it!
Of course, all donations are appreciated, too. That is part of what makes this program possible.

How do you figure it would take less money to *spay or neuter* a human being?

Well for one, the human beings in need of spaying don't have jobs and can get themselves to the appointment without taking off from work, unlike the responsible pet owners.

As far as medical costs go, have the same veterinarian perform the surgery. :yay:

I dont suppose there's ANY chance the humane society is using donated funds for this, and NOT my tax money, is there?
