Speaking of Breakfast...

I just made the best French toast.

Make the toast like you would normally, but I prefer to use Challah bread. Really good stuff.

Cut up a few fruits and toss them in a pan on the stove. I used nectarines and 'naners, but works great with apples or strawberries, or anything you like. Add a bit of water, start to soften the fruit. Add 1/4 cup of sugar. It will make a great fruit syrup. Spoon that over the French toast.

My insulin levels are peaked out and I'm on a sugar rush, but it was worth it!

In a few years when your doctor amputates your feet, will you still think it's been worth it?

Did I touch a nerve?

Yes, especially when I can take that foot and stuff it in your mouth.

I did not mean to offend you at all. Because you mentioned your insulin levels I assumed you are a diabetic. If you don't take care of yourself and watch your diet, this is a real possibility. I was concerned about sending the wrong message to others! Stay healthy and accept my apology if I offended you.

Two Eggos, generous dollop of Log Cabin, glass of milk, off we go...

Seriously, though, the French Toast recipe sounds good and I'll try it someday when making breakfast for more than just myself.

Texas Toast; basically thick cut bread; 2-3 eggs scrambled with cinnamon sprinkled on top.

Sprinkle cinnamon on both sides of bread (the fresher the better); dip both sides in egg mixture; fry on griddle pan w/butter til done to taste.

Also add butter/syrup to taste when done cooking. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
VIOLA! French Toast. :yum:

Not really "good" for you; but D*MN it's tasty.

Before I make them again, I'm gonna try to remember to add strawberries.

GW is not any of those things and your post was rude and offensive to everybody. Not to mention presumptious.

A cheerful little fun thread was interrupted by your nasty negativity.

I try to buy challah whenever I see it, but I never thought to make french toast with it. I can see the appeal with it being so eggy and buttery. :yum:

Want to come to our house and make us breakfast? :jet:

Maybe you could have a retirement side business.

I've always thought I'd make a good short-order cook, but then you work long hours and pretty much get married to the job, then it's no longer fun.

Well you are just a beaming ray of sunshine, aren't you...:eyebrow:
 Thanx. He wasn't even worth responding to.
