Clinton says Iraq invasion was a big mistake

The United States made a "big mistake" when it invaded Iraq, former President Bill Clinton said Wednesday, citing the lack of planning for what would happen after dictator Saddam Hussein was overthrown.

"Saddam is gone. It's a good thing, but I don't agree with what was done, " Clinton told students at the American University of Dubai.

"It was a big mistake. The American government made several errors ... one of which is how easy it would be to get rid of Saddam and how hard it would be to unite the country."

Clinton did however say that the United States had done some good things in Iraq: the removal of Saddam, the ratification of a new constitution, and the holding of parliamentary elections.

I wonder how much more of this crap Bush is going to take from Clinton. If there's anyone who shouldn't be casting stones at another presodent it's this azzhole. I think Bush is looking a lot like that wimpy guy in the old Charles Atlas sales cartoons that's forever letting the bully kick sand in his face and take his girlfriend away. When the hell is Bush going to grow some nads and bury Clinton's head in the sand?

He won't. I think that he's done arguing the matter and is just letting the dogs bark. All Clinton is doing is reading party rhetoric, it's nothing really new.

You think that's all he's doing? Let me tell you what I think he's doing. He's going overseas and telling the World, and especially the terrorists, that there's little confidence in the US IRT this war. It doesn't matter that that's not the truth, nor does it matter that his comments won't change Bush's policies, but what it does do is give our enemies just that much more incentive to keep up the fight. Everytime one of these Dem azzholes goes out and shows dissention in the ranks, the morale of our enemies goes up and they fight on. What Clinton should be saying is that what happened to Hussein is soon going to happen to all the despots in Iraq: they will be caught and brought to justice. Instead he goes around saying that it was all a mistake, which drives down public opinion, which drives up enemy morale.

Bush should have a press conference and just unload on this guy. He never accomplished anything while in office IRT keeping the peace, he never did anything while in office to stop terrorists - worse he did things that improved their situation, and he disgraced his office. He weakened the military and caused us to have to rely on reservists and guardsmen instead of regular Army folks. I think it's a damn shame that Clinton has the bully pulpit while being out of office as a disgraced president while our current president won't use his because he doesn't want to look mean.

:yeahthat: ...and he needs to name names. All he has done so far is to generalize. He needs to make it understood that if you point your finger in my face, I'm going to break it off!

Not much...

I wonder how much more of this crap Bush is going to take

...more.

Supposedly, there are a bunch of commercials coming out soon featuring Bubba and other Dem leaders saying what the said about the war before the Grand Revision started.

Humble pie coming right up.

Gabby would say that Democrats are abusive. And she would say that Republicans are abusive as well, because they stand idly by while Democrats abuse.

Dr. Laura says that those who do nothing about evil are evil themselves.

Dr Laura is a freaking IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!! And so is your fearless leader who is crashing and burning everyday. I love how you bash Clinton on here but god forbid you actually look at Bush and what he has done to our country.

"President Bush feels betrayed by several of his most senior aides and advisors and has severely restricted access to the Oval Office, administration sources say. The president's reclusiveness in the face of relentless public scrutiny of the U.S.-led war in Iraq and White House leaks regarding CIA operative Valerie Plame has become so extreme that Mr. Bush has also reduced contact with his father, former President George H.W. Bush, administration sources said on the condition of anonymity."

Dude is losing it and sounds like he is back to drinking too!! I can't wait till he explodes during a press conference and everyone sees how crazy the man really is!!

"According to Drudge, Bush now “maintains daily contact” with only four people: first lady Laura Bush, his mother, Barbara Bush, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Undersecretary of State Karen Hughes."

Bush worshiper Drudge is even talking about it. KInda hard to run a country when you wont speak to anyone.

I can here him now screaming MOMMY!!! to all of these women!!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

OK I am done, now you can bash me all you want!!! :killingme

Oh yeah, Vrai, I don't hate Republicans like you HATE Democrats (as you said in a different post), i just dont agree with them!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again...LINK YOUR SOURCES!

I check Drudge fairly often and have never seen anything about Bush and who he maintains daily contact with. If you can't back up your statements...

I can vouch for the piece on him not talking to his father lately, but that's one of those veiled sources pieces that is usually as reliable as the reports of Jessica Lynch's capture that "veiled sources" provided.

Just for the record, I do quite a bit of Bush bashing. I think he's made a mess of the war in Iraq, I think his nomination of Myers was the height of stupidity and his response to the response of most Repubs, being we're elitists and sexist, was a horrible slap in the face to all of us. I also disagree with how he's dealing with Clinton. As far as I'm concerned Bush is turning out to be a pretty crappy president, but he's doing better than what Gore or Kerry would have done.

But, I also think it's beyond the pale for Clinton to go to foreign countries and attack anything about the sitting president, yet alone one who went to great lengths to protect him from further embarassment and prosecution.

So you consider mentioning the factual transgressions that Clinton committed while in office "bashing". That's very interesting. However, right before you accuse me of "bashing" you post this:

Dr Laura is a freaking IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!

There's a psychiatric term for that - it's called "Projection".
