A very advanced caterpillar. It's called calcul-caterpillar.

much larger and fuzzier than their ancestors.

I was going with Llama slug or a really furry seal. Calcul-caterpillar is a definite possibility. Sadly, I heard they were to inherit the Earth so that's all kinda scary.

Alpaca would be kinda boring. Unless someone made me a sweater.

Okay, did my research, and it's definitely an Alpaca laying down or "cushing". According to the sites I found, they do this to cool off in the Summer, or if they are frightened. Here's an interesting site...

So they hide their ears when they "cush"? I thought it was an alpaca when I first looked at it, but thought it was strange that I couldn't find his ears.
